Expand your child's imagination by engaging them in fun and productive classes at Neo Art School!
Students improve their abilities to plan, make decisions and think resourcefully through guided instruction that also teaches patience and follow through. Students gain experience that will assist their regular academic endeavors and help tremendously with those challenging special homework projects. Creativity improves problem solving abilities, spatial thinking and math!
Classes vary by season and include an array of art experiences such as: drawing, painting, clay, wood sculpture, paper mache, batik, fabric arts, bookbinding and using recycled materials to make whimsical creations. All supplies are included in the class fee.

Drawing: This after school class helps young artists to develop their skill and imaginative ideas through the investigation of technique and style. Students explore drawing realistically and classically, as well as creatively and abstractly representing what the student visually interprets as art. We also work in the current styles, including Manga. Students are exposed to many examples that aid in the development of their visual memory, and apply their learning to the goals and objectives of each lesson. Class builds skill, confidence and ability to express personal creative ideas through drawing. All supplies included in the fee; optional supply list for home exploration offered. Class meets on Tuesdays, from 4-5pm, for six weeks in a session. End of session features a show of work, where students take pride in displaying the fruits of their creative labors. Optional early arrival for unstructured drawing time from 3:30-4pm for additional fee. Ages 8 - 12.
After School Arts Sampler: Here’s an opportunity for students to explore their special creativity! We will be working with clay, drawing, painting, and creating unique projects that are fun in the making and artistic in the results! All supplies included in fee. Class meets on Wednesdays, from 4-5pm, for six weeks in a session. Ages 7 - 12 accepted.
Beginning Art: A new fun class for the youngest ones! Children will discover the world of art through basic materials and their techniques. They will explore color, shape and texture while drawing, painting, cutting and more! It is the perfect opportunity to prepare the little ones for the classroom setting in a fun and friendly environment. Students will be able to express their creativity through guidance as well as being encouraged to expand their imagination while listening, learning and sharing. All supplies included in fee. Class meets on Thursdays, from 3:30-4:30pm, for six weeks in a session. Ages 4-6 accepted.
Clay Play: Come and enjoy learning about 3-D building and slab construction, glazing and painting in this after school class. Class price includes firing fee and all supplies. Class meets on Thursdays, from 4-5pm, for six weeks in a session. Ages 6-12 may attend; first grade and up, please.
Saturday Art Samplers: This year, we are offering a new set of classes on alternating Saturday mornings. Each session is actually a pair of two Saturday morning classes which must be taken as a pair so that projects can be completed. Sign up for one session, two sessions or all three! All art supplies are included in the fee. Ages 5 – 10.
- Session A: November 5 and 19: Painting with Liquid Tempera & Chalk Pastel Drawing
- Session B: December 3 and 17: Clay and Drawing
- Session C: January 7 and 21: Watercolor Painting
School Break Camps: A refreshing break from regular school! Camps are offered during Winter and Spring breaks. Students dabble in many different art forms over the course of the week; each day is different. Classes are available on a per-day or week long basis, with a discount when a student signs up for the entire Monday – Friday week. Come for a half-day (9am - 1pm with lunchtime or 1pm - 4pm after lunch) or a full day session (9am - 4pm). There is plenty of time for secure and supervised breaks in the adjoining park. All supplies included; students need to bring their own snacks and lunch. Ages 7-12 accepted (1st grade and up). Dates for the 2011-2012 school year are:
- Winter Break Camp: December 19, 20, 21, 22, 23
- Spring Break Camp: April 16, 17, 18, 19, 20
Summer Art Camps: Come have fun exploring art projects and discover your creativity! Students' work may include ceramics, drawing, painting, paper maché, batik, collage, paper making, bookbinding, printmaking, sculpture, or creative projects using recycled materials. Students can register by the week for half-day or full-day classes and work on different projects each day. Class time is punctuated by outdoor breaks for recess or artwork in the adjoining park and playground with secure supervision. Our schedule usually comes out in February or March.
Birthday Parties: Neo Art School offers birthday parties to current and former Neo students and campers. Hundreds of children have enjoyed a calm and creative way to celebrate birthdays with friends - and you can too! Please see our Birthday page for more details.
Private Art Lessons: Regular or one-time sessions can be arranged for individuals or for your small group. Ages 8 and up.
Homeschool Classes: Regular or one-time sessions can be arranged for your homeschool group. We will tailor projects to your needs or design a curriculum for your students' interests and abilities.
